G2R - Right/Left Balance issues

Just wondering if one of the behaviors of the ribbon cable issue can be problems with the left/right balance out of the power amp?
Both of my G2rs have developed similar issues where one channel cuts out or I get odd behavior with the balance knob (turned to the left you only get left, turn to the right and little to no effect). Sometimes i have to have it panned hard right to have the speakers balanced, sometimes middle is balanced. Weird.
Been recording in stereo this week and been driving me kinda batty - stereo delays getting screwed up and such.
I don't use the internal effects so I'd never worried about the ribbon cable.

Hi, I received your email, which I presume came from a Google group..re; Pearce. Strange, I can`t log in to this group. Your problem is almost certainly cables, Change them all.....use hi quality cable and plugs. There are many posts online explaining how to do it - -that`s if you don`t use a tech. regards Al |
