Does anyone have any info on the difference between these two bass
amps?

From the front panel designs, it looks like the EQ has changed. Has
anything else changed in the preamp section? And is the power amp
similar to the one in the G1b?

FWIW, I'm almost done with capturing the BC1 schematic (with BS mod)
into Eagle. I'll probably experiment a bit with changing the mid EQ
and see if I can come up with something like the B2p seems to have...

Thanks for any info!

Yes, thats right, the eq. section of the B2p has extra midrange
controls. The BS mod is called Lead in CH1 and can be swithed on and
off. As for the power amp section, it is the same as the A3 multimode
power amp. 600 watts mono in 8ohms, 300 x side in 4 ohms, crossover,
and tight and loose dumping switches. It is by far one of the most
versatile bass heads ever built. Lucky if you find one.

Just so it's clear, the BC1 was a preamp and had no power amp
section. Many BC1 owners bought A1 power amps to use with the BC1.
The B2p incorporated the Sheehan mod (according to the engineer who
designed parts of it) on a switch. For BC1 lovers, there are some new
products in the works even as we speak.

I should have been more explicit in my question.  The info I have says that the B2p is basically a BC1 with a modified EQ and switchable Sheehan mod, coupled with the A3 power amp.  I was curious if there are any other differences in the preamp of the B2p compared to the BC1.

It would be fun to track down the schematics for the "A" series power amps too...

No major differences other than the limiter control than can be
switched on and off for either ch1 or ch2. You have pointed out the
rest with presicion. I agree that it would be great to have schematics
on the B2p and the other A series power amps!!!

The A1 used a G1 power amp module with an added volume control. The
A2 used the G2 power amp module with added features like Damping, Mode
switches and clipping LEDs. The A3 used the B2p power amp module(s)
and the A4s I'm not sure about because I have only one chassis and no
other info. The A4s chassis is marked Multi Instrument Slave
Amplifier. I'm not sure if any were made.
