merging paired ends with their length larger than twice of single end

Hi,

I am wondering how should I tell Pear that my reads my have no overlap. They are mainly of Case B in your paper. I know the default is 10 but even 1 might be to much for me. IS there value to set to look for no overlapped reads as well as overlapped ones?
