I had a question today, about the new "Data Properties" window, so I
thought I'd share it here. Susan's question was how this relates to
the Workflow, since she won't have a chance to fill it out for every
file in her workflow, and some of the values are wrong.
The Data Properties are read from the file. So if the info in the file
is incomplete, or wrong, that's what will be displayed. It is optional
but recommended to fill it out or correct it.
* Information you save here will not affect the original instrument
data
* Information will be saved in your ANZ results for posterity
* Certain information will be used to suggest parameters for de novo,
protein ID, etc. -- i.e. if you load in a QTOF file, the instrument
setting on the de novo screen will default to QTOF, and error
tolerances of 0.1 and 0.1 will be suggested -- but you can change it
if you want.
For workflow, you may not get a chance to enter Data Properties for
all your files, but setting the search params properly, as you've
always done, will ensure the analysis is performed correctly.
