Hi, everyone!
I would like to ask you a question about how to recognize the signal
peptides, N-and C-terminal sequences from a predicted protein sequence.

Best wishes.

Hi "Tauschii",
Sorry that it took so long for this post to go up. Google blocked it
for some reason, so I had to approve it. I'll leave this question to
the forum.....

Do a google search on SignalP. This will predicted signal peptides for
n-terminus. Not sure about c-terminus.

SignalP is one program as well as Sigcleave from the EMBOSS suite
(http://emboss.sourceforge.net/apps/release/4.0/emboss/apps/sigcleave.ht
ml) which is a instance of the Von Heijne method
1. von Heijne, G. "A new method for predicting signal sequence cleavage
sites" Nucleic Acids Res.: 14:4683 (1986)
2. von Heijne, G. "Sequence Analysis in Molecular Biology: Treasure
Trove or Trivial Pursuit" (Acad. Press, (1987), 113-117)
