I've been beta testing Peaks 5.2 and until now I have had no issues. I
have been trying to use a custom database in Peaks that I have
successfully used with other programs such as Skyline. The entries are
formatted as follows:
> VCH1
MLPSKEELLALLSKECELYASIPDSEQQKKRNKKHFINGLMTACRVVGISFEELNTIIEQMPKKPIFKDLDEQLSVPTYVRNRVDIKL
> VCH2
MENLTNDVITILQYLLPGFVSAWVFYSLTSYPKPSQFERVVQALIFTIFIQAIVVVVEFSVRWLCATYEITGVPDKFGLVGSVVTAILLGVAFAGFANNDLLHKCLRRCLITRETSYPSEWFGAFLQDVTFVVLHLNDERRLYGWPIEWPSEPHKGHFVIADPSWLNDDGTEAEITGVSKLVISASEVKWVEFLEKNWE
> VCH3
MLSEFNNNVCVALWFLYVFSVFTSFG LVIYFYLIDSQASYYLWYLTQWVVLAVLVGYWRIASVKLA
etc.

When I click validate, the results show that all but the first entry
are invalid content. I can't see why this is and I have successfully
used this database in other programs. Any thoughts would be
appreciated. Cheers.

Hello Matt,

My suggestion would be to change the parse rules when setting up the
database. When configuring the database choose 'Other' under FASTA
Format Database. Under 'Advanced Options - Fasta Title Format' set
the following parse rules:

Rules to parse accession/ID from FASTA Title: \(VCH\d*\)
Rules to parse description from FASTA Title: \(VCH\d*\)

The rest of the options you can leave blank. Parsing the accession
number from the title as the description as well avoids errors since
there is no description in the title.

Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,
