Project Downtown starts this Friday!

Hey guys!

First off, thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our kick-
off meeting on Monday: we came up with some powerful and simple ideas
of ways that PoP can help spread a message of tolerance (and combat
ignorance) on campus, and can't wait until our next meeting! We will
email you with the date of our next PoP meeting as soon as we figure
out a date that works for the most people.

At our kick-off meeting, we mentioned Project Downtown, which is
sponsored by MSA. This is a great opportunity to reach out to the
greater Lansing community and collaborate with other student
organizations on campus. Project Downtown is having their first
meeting this Friday, Sept. 17th. The group will first meet up at
Islamic Center on Harrison at 4pm to make sandwiches. From there,
we'll drive to the shelter (Volunteers of America) located at:
430 North Larch Street
Lansing, MI 48912
Those that have cars should bring them for carpooling.
*Unfortunately, neither Aviva or I will be able to make it to the
first meeting, due to Yom Kippur, but we encourage anyone who is
interested to check it out!
