What is MCMA? MCMA (Monochorionic Monoamniotic) is a rare and high-risk type of twin pregnancy where both babies share the same placenta and the same amniotic sac. This increases the risk of serious complications such as cord entanglement, preterm birth, and requires close medical monitoring and early delivery, often resulting in extended hospitalization and intensive NICU care for the babies.
