This is a very special opportunity to enjoy in an intimate setting the
singing and songwriting of Patricia Morrison, with a voice like Joan
Baez and songwriting compared to Natalie Merchant, Leonard Cohen, and
Joni Mitchell.
Patricia is stopping here while on a national tour that includes a
concert on April 15th at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. A
classically trained singer/songwriter and music teacher who hails from
New Mexico and Arizona, Patricia calls on folk, world, blues, gospel,
and classical influences to write her songs, which are marked by a
care for humanity as seen through the stories of individuals. These
stories take on a new life in her rich, soaring vocal lines and the
gentle, undulating backdrop of her guitar.
Opening with Patricia will be fellow Quaker and local singer/
songwriter Paulette Meier whose award winning CD, Come Join the
Circle: LessonSongs for Peacemaking, has won national acclaim.
Come on over to the Community Friends Meeting House (near Xavier
University) for an intimate concert. An opportunity like this only
comes around every so often…this is one of those times.
