Peace Folk:
I have forwarded below a proposal that UC arrange for a screening
Sept 21- Oct 2, 2010 of a peace video that is available for preview
that requires a log on available from the sponsores It took a while
for the video to download, but I found it most inspiring. I hope IJPC
and the Peace Church network as well as faculty at Bluffton and
Wilmington will combine in sponsorship as part of a national effort to
promote nonviolent direct action in the occupied territories.
Let me know what you think,
Howard

Subject: RE: Screening Film About Nonviolence at the University of
Cincinnati
Hello Howard,
I'm glad to hear that you are considering screening the film at the
University of Cincinnati and beyond! Thank you for passing along the
information to your colleagues. It sounds like you have wealth of
excellent resources in your community!
I'd love to give you a bit more information about the film. If you'd
like to view the film in its entirety, you will be able to do so at
the following website with the username and password I am providing:
www.littletownofbethlehem.org/LTOB/LTOB_Doc.html
user name : Reviewer
password : 712ltob
The access code above will be active from July 12 to July 18.
You may pass that information along to your colleagues as well, if
they'd like to preview the film. If you are unable to view the film by
July 18, please let me know and I will send you another password for
next week.
I know you mentioned that your semester begins on September 22, and
the first couple of weeks are rather hectic, but having you
participate in the 9/21-10/02 national screening launch, regardless of
size, will help make a big impact. As you know with grassroots, it’s
all about the momentum and the more we can build nationally, the more
we can encourage others to do the same. I know having the University
of Cincinnati. participate will be a big motivator for other schools,
so I hope you can find an opportunity to sign up online –
http://www.egmfilms.org/screening/.
The Screening Kit is $150, which includes the film (in DVD), ongoing
public viewing license (which means you can show as often to whomever
you like), Educational Guide (terms, timeline, maps) and marketing
material (posters, flyers, invites, jpegs – all of which are
customizable to the University of Cincinnati). We’ve noticed that some
folks have the university library purchase the kit, and then the whole
school has access (and it doesn’t come out of your budget).
Also, please note on the form that there is a fundraising opportunity
for the school to purchase additional DVD’s at $10 and be able to sell
them for up to $20 at the screening. There is a min purchase of 5
DVD’s (there was some confusion about our $10 DVD’s).
Finally, I wanted to make a couple of suggestions since the 9/21-10/02
time frame might not be ideal for the University of Cincinnati. I
appreciate your willingness to accommodate our timeline, and I
strongly encourage you to try to screen the film at that time because
regardless of size, contributing to the discussion of a national
collective is a powerful way to spread awareness and support the work
of nonviolent activists. Since the Screening Kit does include an
ongoing public viewing license, you may also screen the film anytime
after that, which might be better for the university's schedule.
Additionally, we have also been helping to organize lecture panels to
go with screenings in some cities, which would bring together local
universities and organizations. This seems like it might be a good
option for your community, since you mentioned a number of
organizations and individuals that might be interested in viewing and
discussing the film. If it seems like there is some interest around
such an event, we would be happy to help you organize it and make it
happen.
Again, thank you so much for your interest in the film!
Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide. I look
forward to hearing back!
Best,
Hallee
