Islamic scholar Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri addressed a packed audience amid tight security at a city auditorium on Thursday….In his message of peace Qadri said, “Muslims do not have the right to instigate their followers against a common enemy in the guise of religion. We need to initiate a cultural dialogue between India and Pakistan based on mutual understanding and love.…While referring to the November 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, Qadri said that there was no place for terrorism in Islam. “Those people who brainwashed young minds to kill others in the name of religion have no right to call themselves Muslims,” he said. Qadri also observed a minute’s silence to condemn the attacks…

A five-day conference of the border guards of Bangladesh and India kicks off in New Delhi… The director-general level meet between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India is likely to deliberate on, among other issues, recent border killings, said a BGB media statement….Other issues likely to come up during the five-day meet include smuggling, arms and drug trafficking, and setting up of establishments and electric polls by BSF within 150 yards of the BGB frontier in breach of international border rules…

The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SAARC CCI) join hands to foster Indo-Pakistan economic cooperation through meaningful collaboration….They discussed the mechanism to develop sustainable cooperation through establishment of Joint Ventures in industries with a particular focus on cooperation in SMEs.
