Islamabad, Dec 22 (PTI) Pakistan would release 100 Indian fishermen,
currently being held in prisons in this country on December 24 as a
humanitarian gesture, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani announced
today….Pakistan also proposed for revival of the bilateral Judicial
Commission on Prisoners to address the problems of prisoners and
fishermen being held in jails in both countries, the statement said…

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Afghanistan on Monday agreed to allow Afghan
products’ export to India through land route, but stopped short of
taking up the issue of reciprocal trade by New Delhi to Afghanistan.
Although a formal agreement would be signed later, understanding on
the issue was reached as result of three days’ of negotiations between
technical experts of the two sides from Commerce and Immigrations
departments in Islamabad….

COLOMBO: The Indian Government has decided to extend a Line of Credit
of US$ 425 million to the Government of Sri Lanka for three major
projects. The projects coming under the LoC are track laying by IRCON

the Madhu-Tallaimannar sector and the supply of rolling stock by RITES

ISLAMABAD: National Committee on SAARC Gender Info-Base held a meeting
Monday in connection with 6th Population and Housing Census in the
country.The meeting was organized by the Population Census
Organization (PCO) in collaboration with the United Nations
Development Funds for Women (UNIFEM).Speaking on the occasion, Khizar
Hayat Khan Chief Census Commissioner said that SAARC Gender Infobase
(SGIB) has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UNIFEM to help the
