If you send an email to po...@peabrain.co from the email address associated with your account AND you include your note in the SUBJECT line of said email (I don't do anything with the body of the email), there is a chance that that note will be saved.

I haven't tested it much, and I'm not sure I'll keep it around, but since it wasn't too difficult to implement I thought it'd be worth testing.

I'd love feedback from anyone who thinks this feature is useful, or not useful, and why.  Thanks!

I've gotten immediate utility out of this feature. It allows me to post from my iPad and desktop, which I wasn't able to do before.

I also like it for the ability to post from the desktop, and also being able to use peabrain with IFTTT now.

I've tried it a couple times, and I can definitely see that it's useful.  However, I miss getting the almost-instant reply of stats, so I'll probably stick to SMS the majority of the time.  Thanks for this option though!

Oh, scratch that!  I just checked my phone and saw that I got the stats for those e-mailed posts.  Excellent!

Awesome.  May I ask how exactly you're integrating it with IFTTT?   Any public recipes you are willing to share?

Yeah, if this catches on, I can send those responses via email.  But I have also been finding that it's nice to have an easy history of my messages in one place.

As far as I can tell, it's not possible to integrate with IFTTT quite yet. I know I made the request to implement posting via email, but I also saw and realized the limitations of the email channel (you can only send to your own email).

I thought I was onto something when I got the idea to then use gmail's filtering and fowarding features to forward those IFTTT emails to po...@peabrain.co, but the snag there is that it requires that email to be confirmed. (So there was probably a confirmation email from google sent to po...@peabrain.co and subsequently dropped since it wasn't on the whitelist).

Here would be one recipe I would use if it worked: http://ifttt.com/recipes/44504

Buster, did you get access to the IFTTT API? Hopefully they change their email channel or perhaps programming a peabrain channel won't be that hard.

I'm not attached to this particular way of creating notes, but I do love being able to create notes from devices without SMS (iPod Touch, iPad, desktops, etc).

Yes, I'm finding that I, too, like getting the stat responses sent to my phone, even if I send in the posts via e-mail.
