Hi Folks,

I was looking at the OccupyPortland google groups and noticed that
there is a difference between
Occupy Portland" and "OccupyPortland" in search results.

OccupyPortland groups bring a direct result for those groups as part
of the Occupation.

The two-word version gives results of blog posts and what not.

Thus, I want to put out for group consideration that we create a
"OccupyPortland Wiki" group. The brainstorm creative idea being that
the OccupyPortland area of the Portland wiki is branding itself as
identified with the hyper-local of the OccupyEverywhere movement.

It may help draw those who are involved in communicating as a part of
this community, if we identify directly with it for its purposes. .

Hi Teresa,  I was trying to figure out what you are saying, but don't know :-)

Please feel free to edit the wiki - if it ruffles any feathers, we will get it straightened out :-)

BTW - PortlandWiki just went down for a few minutes - thinking we need to upgrade space, Dave, what can folks kick in, interms of $$ for that?

Best, Mark

Hi Mark et al,

To clarify, the banner reads that the occupations tarts at noon. The march starts at noon. he occupation  immediately following.

I do not have the admin rights to edit - or do not know how to locate - the copy . I looked into the edit section and the copy and code for that portion of the page do not appear.

As this seems to be a special or more advanced formatting, I cannot access it to add other information at the top of the page. Information that newbies should know, such as how not to get arrested, what to do if so, what to bring to occupy, that the site is not announced to occupy etc.

you know, stuff the crowd of essentially newbies took up last night.

I think newbie questions are always the same. ;-)

Best,

Teresa

Hi Teresa, regarding the banner at the top as well as the information that newbies should know, I have already fixed the banner issue and responded to both issues in the place you brought it up: http://portlandwiki.org/User_talk:PDXsays#OccupyPortland_Banner_is_inaccurate_-_PLS_EDIT_STAT_54

Teresa, please start working on those pages - we can figure out how to include them.

You have access, comb threw Recent Changes to find the page.  It is in the MediaWiki space.
