	October 31, 2011 Dear Mark,  We're having a birthday party and you're invited! On November 18, it will be exactly 25 years since the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area was created. We're celebrating with live music, food, drink, and the new OPB special on the Columbia Gorge "Fighting for Paradise". There are two parties - one in Portland and one in Hood River. Click on the city for event details and to register. It all starts at 5:00 p.m. If you're not a member, take advantage of the new member special. Your donation at the door gets you a 1-year membership giving you access to guided hikes and other fun events. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Friends and to socialize with other Gorge enthusiasts. We hope to see you there!
