I just noticed a post announcing the "Advisory Capital Network" that
might be of interest to some in this group.

Any other things such as this that we should know about? Will it work?
Any other Web 2.0 financing resources?

I guess this is a real announcement, but it confuses me since he used
this newspaper clipping generator:

Other blogs have been posting jokes using it, so it makes me cautious!

And I thought Web 2.0 was all about bootstrapping? Or, is it about
Ajax? Or, big fonts?

I have to say I'm pretty skeptical about this adisory capital stuff. I
mean, I suppose if they have really good connections, it probably
doesn't hurt a whole lot, and I'm all for listening to people 's input.
But, bringing in people who don't have anything personally invested
(either in terms of money or time spent developing a product) just
seems like a bad idea.

In local news, OVP just raised a new fund
(http://blog.oef.org/2006/05/more_money_more_money.html), $207 million,
the largest in state history. One helpful resource that I've come
across lately is oregonstartups.com. They have a good newsletter
packed with local happenings and financing news from all over. For
those interested in financing, there are a couple of things happening
