Sounds like monthly is the best frequency. That's one decision made.
Everybody up for one next week? Say the 7th or 8th from 7-9?
Suggested locations?

Next week is great. The location might partly depend upon expected
attendance....

I vote for Wednesday the 8th. 7-9 works fine for me. Not sure about
locations - somewhere you can talk at a decent volume without
disturbing others, free wifi (?), decent beer (?) - only thing coming
to mind is rose & raindrop. I haven't been there before though just
heard good things - thoughts?

I like Wednesday the 8th, 7p-9p, too.

Sounds like Wednesday's the day. I don't expect turnout to be much
bigger than this group for the first meeting. I've sent invites to
Attensa, Platial, and Pheedo (some of the more visible web 2.0ish
companies around to kind of spread the word more. Also added it to
upcoming.org.

Rose & Raindrop sounds like a good option. If there are no other
ideas, let's do that.

R&R works for me - another option Adam and I discussed over email is
the private meeting room at World Cup on 18th & Gilsan. You have to
reserve it but it's free with purchase of coffee for the first hour.
Last I asked about any other costs, the people behind the counter were
pretty noncommittal, mumbling something about a possible $20 charge,
but I think as long as we purchase more coffee and have it reserved,
it's fine.

Personally, it looks a little *too* quiet compared to R&R for the first
meeting - not to mention I'm a fan of the beer during the 7-9pm hours
which World Cup doesn't have.

As am I. It sounds like we're on for the R&R, Wednesday (3/8) from 7-9.
Sounds great!

See y'all on Wednesday at the R&R. Are we meeting in a special place
there?

I assumed we'd all be wearing propeller hats...

I've never been to the R&R, so not sure what the layout is like. They
do have WiFi, so maybe look for a laptop or two?

Yes, the laptop. You'll know me because I'll have the one with 786MB of
memory. :)

Hi,
My name is Will Luers. I am working on various video publishing
projects that are Web 2.0ish.
I plan to show up at Rose and Raindrop at 7 tonight. See you then!

about Platial's progress next month.

Maybe one of our designer friends could whip up a nice logo and put it
on some standing placard? A little late perhaps, I imagine the laptops
will be sufficient.

Hello,
I'm new to the group as well. George Kunz. I've been an active project
manager / producer in Portland.
Looking forward to meeting you all tonight.

So a few of us are already here, we're in the back (big) room at the
largest (group-style) round table. Just in case you're, like, here or
something. Come over and join us.

Hey, we had a great time at the meeting! Looking forward to fun and
interesting stuff from this group. By the way, Geoffrey Grossenbach who
does the Rails podcast, along with several others, recorded a ton of
interviews at last week's Under the Radar conference. It's very
interesting listening and much of it topical to last nights
conversations.

Cheers!

It was great to meet everybody - a good turnout for the first meeting
and I really enjoyed hearing about everybody's projects. Looking
forward to getting to know "the other side" of the table next month.

If the people who haven't put their name and URLs on the wiki list
would do so, that would be great - I'd love to check out everybody's
sites.

Thanks for coming all, I enjoyed meeting everybody. I just wrote up my
post for the night,

(including the links I could find). As Jacob said, feel free to post
about the other side of the table.
