Hi Gaba!
Thanks for taking a stab at this - I've been thinking about this myself today, and had put what I had written here so far:
What's there is mostly a very rough draft for lecture notes as a start for what we need to fill in - I'm not committed to any of the text that's there :-). I'm hoping to have the whole day in one slide deck, or at the very least in one repo - does github absolutely *not* work for anyone who wanted to write materials this week?
I'm using slideshow + textile format so that we have something that's a bit of an easier interchange format for git, plus it renders ruby code rather nicely.
We have some convergent evolution, but I think I was starting at an even more basic level.
Flipping through what you've written, one concern is that it's 41 slides for 60 minutes & I think there could be some expansion towards the very end with method definitions & control loops.
What'd be nice is if we could make the intro to ruby 1.5 hours instead of just 1, which we could do if we didn't need to head out for lunch...
Christie - so can we definitely provide something for lunch on Saturday? Whether it's an order of vegan pies from hotlips or something? I know we talked a little about this before, but I wasn't sure if we were talking only about Friday night or also lunch on saturday.
Gaba - do you mind if I try to merge what you have into my git repo. Would you rather do it?
Everyone working on curriculum- could we do our first practice run on Wednesday night? It sounds like Thursday might not work for everyone.
Cheers!
Caylee
