After the discussion about possible ideas for future meetings on Monday, I realized I had completely forgotten about Scalatron:
Scalatron, for those who haven't seen it, is a game where you write 'bots' in Scala. The bots compete against each other within a finite arena in a game with a finite time span. It looks like both a fun way to learn Scala (hard to say, since I already know Scala) and to flex some Scala muscles in an environment that might work well for overall group learning. I'd love to devote a meeting to just playing with this, but I'd like to hear if others think this is a good idea before we give it a try.
