Since I missed the meeting last month, I don't know if there were any talks suggested or offerred for this month. Kevin Scaldeferri has already offered to do a rouch preview of a talk he's planning to give at a conference later this month (Kevin, perhaps you can clarify which talk you'll be previewing -- or was it the same talk submitted to both conferences?).

If you have ideas or suggestions, I'd welcome them!

It'll be a subset of my lambdajam talk (http://lambdajam.com/sessions#scaldeferri), mostly focused on "Using the cake pattern to bridge the divide between unit testing and functional testing"

I put together two ~20-minute noob exercises, one on folds and one on type constraints. So I could do one of them if there's any interest during the first hour. Or I could whip up more exercises if people have suggestions. I think if we try to have at least one [short] prepared talk/exercise during noob hour we'll be able to attract more Scala-curious people ... and I'm happy to help with this.

I like the idea of starting with prepared content for us noobs. I also appreciate that the group makes an effort to bring more of us into the fold (pun intended).

I think that would be fantastic. I think one of these (you choose) would be fantastic and still allow time for discussion, help requests, etc.

Ah, yes -- now I recall you telling me that the other day. I'm a bit overloaded with information these days. Need to hire an assistant to keep track of it all for me.
