This year I've resolved to do a little more open source work. It would
be nice to be able to sit down and chat through the project with
someone in person so I thought I would ask on the list first. So my
question is if anyone is doing a ruby project that would love an extra
hand/pair of eyes. I'd especially like something that was totally out
of my normal comfort zone of web development but really anything is
good.
My hope is that we can hang out and share a beer for maybe 3-4 hours
one night a week while hacking on something you really love and care
about. Together I'm sure we can build something amazing!
Thanks everyone!

Big "ditto" here! I'd like to work on an open source project that would
involve some face to face time with other developers in the area (I live
in NE Portland - Hollywood). Jason and I dropped by the Lucky Lab
hackfest last week a bit late, and the place was really mobbed and loud
- not my idea of an ideal collaborative environment for learning new
code bases, but I will likely drop by again to give it another chance.
When it comes down to it, I'm still an early-intermediate Ruby/Rails
person, so I'd like to pick something fairly simple to start with and
solidify my skills.
