# Web Application Developer #
Location: On site in Portland, Oregon
Position: Full-time employee
Hit the ground running as an integral member of a small, self-managing
software development team with a mission to help communities achieve a
responsible balance within their urban systems and infrastructure, and
to reduce the impact of new developments on our remaining wild and
natural resources.
Our backgrounds are in sustainable infrastructure planning and design,
complex online systems, and change management. We value people,
teamwork, innovation, diversity, and a healthy life balance, with an
overriding dedication to quality in everything we do.
## Responsibilities ##
* Participate as a software developer on a small, co-located,
cross-functional team to implement new product features for our web
application (

* Work closely with product managers, engineers, and senior
management to define and refine platform to meet the needs of
stakeholders
* Contribute new and innovative ideas to rapidly evolving web application
* Strive to continuously improve our teamwork and development processes
## Required Skills and Knowledge ##
* Strong software development background, familiar with all aspects
of the software development life cycle
* Demonstrated web application development experience including at
least two major projects
* Understands the importance of continuous integration and automation
* Database design experience
* Demonstrated ability and desire to learn continuously
* Comfortable with pair programming
## Preferred Experience ##
* 5+ years experience in web-based design and development
* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
* Ruby, Rails, Linux, Apache, PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the
command line, Git, Cucumber and Test::Unit
* Familiarity or experience with GIS technologies and applications a
strong plus
