Dear pdxruby and pdxfunc,

There's a new user group in town that you may be interested in:
pdxscala. I've been writing small Scala apps and have mostly liked it so
far. The language seems to combine many features I like about object
oriented, functional , dynamic and type-safe programming on a fast,
solid runtime.

From Thomas Lockney:

We'll be hosting the next meeting of PDXScala this Thursday, Dec 17th,
at AboutUs. We will be starting at 7PM and will be featuring a talk by
Trenton Lipscomb on mutable and immutable data structures in Scala.

For those of you who are not familiar with the AboutUs offices, they are
located at 107 SE Washington St., Suite 520. You can find the map on
Calagator: http://calagator.org/venues/202389972

Building access can be a bit tricky, but if you get there and the door
or elevator is locked, you can either call the main AboutUs number
(503.914.032) or my mobile number (971.322.9408) and someone will let
you in.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all there!
