Jade (or New Relic people),

is this Railsconf attendees only?

Portland,

If it's not attendees only, I'd love to cancel H+H in favor of going to the New Relic shindig. What's more important to a new learner than finding out about their community? If we cancel I'll update the calagator event and send out a reminder email.

Does anyone have concerns about this plan?

We'll be sending out the details soon, but please reserve Tuesday night for the Railsconf afterparty at New Relic. We'll be hosting a great party!

I'd rather hang out and hack on things with interesting people than go to a party. YMMV.

Yeah, seems like two different events to me. I like the idea of having H+H at RailsConf to show people from out of town the cool stuff we do. H+H also seems like an easier entry point for someone new to the community. For people who've been coming to H+H for a while, maybe the party is a better fit. I'm sure we can find some people who aren't as interested in the party to help coordinate.

I like parties too, so I wish we had more days to fit everything in. :)

That would be awesome if we could find a volunteer to coordinate this event. Anyone jump to mind? Audrey maybe?

The other question is where. I'm pretty sure that CC would still host but it's a special day so maybe we do something special?

Yes, that would be nice :)

Rather than having it at Crowd Compass, we talked with Shirley at RailsConf about making it a BoF session at the convention center*. She said there will be a board onsite for BoF sign-ups near the registration area. I'm going to be there Sunday for a volunteer meeting, so I can claim a spot for us early.

* Took me a minute to get my "CC"s figured out.

Yes, I'm planning to coordinate h+h at the convention center. When we checked with the conference, it sounded like we could just show up and put it on the BoF schedule.
