Unfortunately the sound (at least thisd night) was very lacking. Near
the front of the beer section (it was an all ages night) it was extra
bright and tiny, near the center of the room was better, but not alot.
On the balcony the sound was loud and hard to listen to.
The 88 opened the show and rocked the room with their special brand of
happy popie rock, totally worth the $12.00. Then disaster struck, the
Watson Twins (I will never again go see an act with the word TWINS in
the name) stunk up the place with bad sound, bad wardrobe, bad stage
presence and bad trippy chick music.
I would love to report on how Matt Costa was, but we left after a few
Watson Twins songs.
I hope the sound is better for Frank Black in November. I feel like it
must have been the night since the Wonder Ballroom is booking quite a
few decent acts. If they get a rep for being a bad sounding room they
will die.
Still looking for an October night. There has been a suggestion of the
North Mississippi All-Stars at the Wonder Ballroom, but I think it
should be another venue.
I am thinking one of a couple great shows at the Roseland:
1) PENNYWISE, Circle Jerks, Ignite - Oct 1st
2) GOVERNMENT MULE - Donavon Frankenreiter - Oct. 22nd
If you have a thought on a decent show to go see in October let us know
by posting.
