Hey all,

I'm familiar with GWT, and I'd like to build a simple yet moderately
rich UI* for the browser and learn something quite different in the
process. Undoubtedly there are a lot of choices out there that you've
seen or played with that I've never heard of. Got any suggestions for
me?

Cheers,
Merlyn

* Generally speaking: I want to be able to create and drag around a
small number of shapes around on the screen, feed changes back to the
server, and render the asynchronously calculated data in relation to
those shapes.

Flex might be the best choice in terms of a polished look and feel. I
think I'm going to give YUI a go and get to know JavaScript better in
the process..

YUI was a great choice. I have already have a mock up going that does
80% of what I want.
