Well, we almost got it working without the wall wart. It might just be my laptop that can't put out enough power. The USB to barrel plug adapter is in the case for the rift by the brain wave toy. A battery pack with 5 volt regulator might work better.

Waiting on my dev kit eagerly. Were you part of the Kickstarter campaign or an after-the-fact developer?

Yup, I did the kickstarter a while back, and magically found it waiting on my porch Monday night when I got home.  It's free to play with at the space, though I would request that people be nice to it, and put it back in the box when they are done.

Linux support is still sub-par, but they are promising a Linux version of the SDK "soon".  Luckily Charles had the winning combination of Windows and an HDMI port, and we got some of the demos working last night. (DVI and OSX is also supported).

I've been playing with Ibex a bit, which seems to act like a window manager for the Occulus Rift.  Unfortunately Linux development is a bit stalled until the SDK is released, but maybe someone can get it working on another platform?  I talked with the developer yesterday, and it sounds like most of the development is being done on OSX.

Awesome!

CCP showed off an in-house Oculus Rift project at last week's EVE
Online Fanfest. It looked really fun.

I got Half-Life 2 working with rift display support, so we'll have that for people to play with tomorrow night.

Curious question here, did anyone get a Unity Pro four month trial packaged with theirs? I would kill to have that.
