This is a service announcement from your local hotel-based furry convention, Furlandia.
There's no question that the local mailing lists don't see much activity these days, but we realize some people may not be on
Twitter,
Facebook, or have us watched on
FurAffinity. So this is for you!
First; you can check out our site for details at any time, and most of this information and more can be found there.

Furlandia 2014 is coming up in a matter of weeks, and we want to see everyone there. This has been a huge community effort, and it's all for you.
When is this? Memorial Day Weekend! May 23 - 25, 2014. We plan to have a full day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you have a three day weekend, why not spend it with us?
Hotel reservations are still available for a great discounted rate, and parking is free. Reservations should remain open online until 5/21. Details are available on our hotel page. If you can get a room, please consider it! Our survival for future events may honestly depend on it this year as our room block needs haven't been met yet.
Our pre-registration is open until the end of May 10th (this Saturday). You can get a basic membership during this time for $30, or at con for $40 after that. There are higher membership levels available as well. Or maybe you want to get a spot in our Dealers Den? Applications close on 5/10, and there are only a few tables left right now. Our Dealer tables are just about the best deal you can find because; they are low cost, there is no sales tax, and we are providing electricity for free. Our half-tables are an especially great entry level price.
Whether you came last year or haven't even heard of us, come check it out. We've made several improvements over last year, including using a new hotel that was completely remodeled only a few years back that we think everyone is going to love. It also features much larger event space, including a Dealers Den easily twice the size, complete with twice the number of dealers. You probably also know that we've joined Rainfurrest Anthropomorphics International, the organization that produces Rainfurrest, and as a result have gained access to the means to make this a better con.
Our theme this year is "300 BCE: Furs of the Iron Age". You can see an explanation of this on our website.
You can expect to see all of the furry con programming you might expect, and some extras. We're putting the final touches on our programming grid now. We'll also have Voodoo Doughnut's food truck on location Saturday from 2 - 6pm selling what they're known for in the east lot (they are cash only).
Our Guests of Honor this year are our very own local artist Kacey Miyagami, and Vancouver, BC's NitroShep as fursuit Guest of Honor.
We have several DJs lined up for our dances; some you may be familiar with from other conventions, as well as the return of some of our locals such as Swift and Thomasaur.
We have T-shirts available for pre-order through the pre-registration system right now, or available at con. We'll also have drink tickets for sale at Registration or Con Store in the Dealers Den that are good for a bar that will be set up during the dance Saturday night.
We have a forum available to post room and ride shares.
If you have any questions, our website has a contact page with a list of email addresses per department, or contact me at
tr...@furlandia.org
Want to help?
We still have need of more staff at the convention to help us out in almost all departments. You can email
staf...@furlandia.org to offer your help. We'll also be taking volunteers at the convention.
We're always looking for people who want to run panels and programming. You can email
progr...@furlandia.org to volunteer to run an existing panel, or suggest your own.
Thank you to everyone, we hope to see you,
- Triss
Chairman
