After discussion at the end of last weeks meeting, it was decided that
we could use a space more conducive to group discussion. To this end,
a room in the Reed college library has been reserved for our next
meeting. This will allow us access to conference tables and a
projector, both of which should enhance discussion.

I've also created a github project for the group: http://github.com/agentcoops/PDXFDS.
In this way individuals can post independent solutions to git or
collaborate to solve particularly tricky problems. During our
meetings we can then project and discuss particularly nice solutions.
As a perk, by the end of this group we should have a nice repository
of example solutions to the book, hopefully in multiple languages. If
you want push access to the repo, let me know your github username.

Anyways, the second meeting of PDXFDS is to be held at 7:00pm on
Wednesday, September 9th in room L389 on Reed campus. The reading is
chapter 3.

Reed's address is 3203 Se Woodstock Blvd and there are ample signs
around campus that can direct you to the library. I recommend parking
in the East parking lot (the one closest to 39th) as the Library is
quite a short walk from there. From the library lobby there are two
ways to reach L389: elevator and stairs. The staircase to the third
floor is located through a door to the left of the several stairs
leading into the library proper. The elevator is located to the left
of circulation desk. Once on the third floor, walk down the hallway
until you reach room 389. If anyone has further questions about how
to get to the room in question let me know.

The first meeting seems like it should be discounted as an (excellent)
meet & greet. Maybe we should actually discuss C2 in depth before
moving onto C3?

I, for one, don't think we need to rush through these chapters. If we picked up again on chapter 2 and had a few exercises we could all prepare before meeting, I would be satisfied with the content coverage.

Fair enough. I still think we should include chapter three in the
reading, though, as I think it's pretty likely that we'll get through
two pretty quickly. I think our plan should be to finish two and
begin work on three at this week's meeting.
