I'll be straight up, it's not a paying gig.  Other than you'll be the center of attention for a good number of open minded folks (those crazy burning man cats!), and be able to make your weird music in an environment that is usually quite interested in hearing things other folks just don't get (electronic!).

There will be a green room, and most likely some goodies in said green room for musicians/performers lovely enough to donate their time.

There will be fire art, performance art, art art, people, dancing, fun, family fun, booze fun, late night fun... it's an afternoon till wee hours sort of event.

So... if you want to be a part of it, email... uhh... I guess me.  Somehow I'm going from just playing to also recruiting... I'm going to make sure "coordinator" doesn't become anything attached to me though!  If you're interested let us know so we can see what we have to work with and decide what will work best!

PS: It's nov 15th, at the watershed over near milwaukie ave and holgate.

Folks like Solovox (one of Portland's original electronic musicians, from back in the day) Sad Music for Happy Humans (y'know me) and so forth are playing.  I'll let you know more as the time gets nearer.

PS: I've got a free ALL AGES event coming up this Sunday!  All ages downtown at an art gallery.  All ages doesn't mean no booze though!  More info shortly.

Thanks for offering to get involved, but for the music we are definitely looking for folks who gig live already, as this is a pretty big deal for the Burning Man community and one thing we electronic musicians learn quickly when gigging is what can go wrong with electronics (so much!). ;)

You should definitely come down to the event, though... and they are always looking for volunteers for other things!  Let me know if you'd be interested in that and I can point you in the right direction.

Out of curiosity, what do you exactly mean by "play to a track"... means something much different now that folks aren't restricted to doing that with tape loops.

When I make a compisition or song I mix it down to audio form. Burn it to a disc and then play it over loud speakers. That is my live show at the moment. I sing so its not like I'm just playing music. ;)

It is that event, and I'm not sure myself if Carl is playing or not... The coordinator of the event said he was, and that I believe Groovebomb would be there, but I should know more in the next few days.

Nice tracks, btw... I'm waiting to hear how many slots we have to fill but I'm thinking we'll be able to fit you somewhere.  I'll be in touch.

How ironic that you tell me to check goodwill. I went there tonight
with friends to find costume stuff and guess what I found! A midi
keyboard for #30. It's the old Nintendo Miracle keyboard. Works
great. :) Thanks for shifting fate for me. lol

Just got word from C (aka Solovox) that he is indeed playing the late night dance music at our fun Burnout festival Nov 15th.
