Okay, so wow times can be hectic. I haven't done jack anything with
wearethemusicmakers.org Mainly because I'm not a coder, and can only very slowly struggle through things, and those coders I know have been busy. But, while I can't make the code pretty, I can cheat and use mapping to make a site that looks decent and has, most importantly, content. So I'd like to at least start up by listing electronic musicians from this list with online presences.
So... email me your music name, url, contact email (if different from what you use for this list; ie contact that would go on the website for folks who see you on there) and we'll get something going soon... soon by my time of course, heh.
Also, I'd like to start gathering together some sort of contact database for portland electronic musicians, so, here's where I need your help:
-Know a booker/promoter etc who wants to be contacted from a pdx electronic music site by EM musicians/etc? Give me contact info.
-Know a club that either always or sometimes houses electronic music acts? Tell me their name. If you have contact info give that as well. Heck, tell me what you've seen there that you dug and why, and how often that club gives you something like that.
-Do you or do any of your friends have a house that parties are thrown at? Do these houses like music events? Let's get them listed too.
-Are there any recurring club nights for electronic music that you like to go to that others should know about?
-Any local EM acts that you highly suggest people check out? Why?
-Any other types of things you'd like to see on a site that is devoted to serving PDX Electronic Music lovers? I'd really like everyone's input here (since we numbers be so small to start!)
Disclaimer: Electronic music simply means electronic music making devices are used in the creation somewhere. The outcome is whatever you like it to be.
PS: Do a favor and turn a friend or few onto the list, send a social network bulletin saying "come play!" or whatevs. Lists usually take time, but it never hurts to help them along!

happyhumans.orgPPS: I may be doing an aphex twin remix/recreation set this Tuesday... it was going to be at Ohm, but Ohm closed... I think we're getting relocated to Someday lounge but need to talk to my boy first. So... tentatively keep your tuesday open... I'm really excited about these recreations (I'm cutting up and rewriting aphex twin songs in studio, then remanipulating my manipulations live... other dj/electronic music folks will also be giving their renditions of aphex twin tunes). Richard D James masks, should this be happening, will be provided.
