Some of us in the electronic music world feel that electronic music is only assisted by utilizing real sounds.  Some do it with sample based VSTs... others like to make their own samples, loops, softsynths etc.

Tone generation is really the key, as pitch shifting a couple/few octaves is no big deal, and hasn't been for quite some time.  While there are some neat tone generators (lots of build your own kits or just dirt buy someone else's), it's also fun to

play with toys!

So, ye who also enjoyeth such, I have a gift for you:

Squeal with glee!

Anyone else have nifty resources on this topic (or hell, any other)?  What has mr internet been pointing you to, in the realm of electronic music/music making/et al, lately?

The Make: Blog has always been a good resource (though they play it
safe for simplicity's sake). http://blog.makezine.com There's a
solenoid-valve trigger "drummer" via MIDI that is in the current
issue. To have a robot army playing along behind one self is
enticing, no?

Instructibles has helped my bitchass solve some problems. They tend
to lean towards using Nuendo-applied applications, which, while not
cheating, doesn't have the hands-on approach that is so satisfying and
instructing. However, there's a comments-section below each step of
the project. Its like high school all over again, with someone asking
a "stupid" question and arousing discussion--quite a decent place to
brain-storm ideas. I've had to rework my idea of a washtub bass many-
a-times simply by someone asking where to mount the pick-up...
