My name is Wes Huston, and I live along the beautiful Columbia River in the Gorge area, on the Washington side. Inspired by the unique, seasonal flavor of fresh hop beer, I decided to start a small hop-growing experiment. Nestled among fir trees and blackberry bushes, what began as a modest project has now grown into something much larger—with over 200 rhizomes planted and with 200 more coming in 2026, all supported by a trellis system that rivals a commercial operation.
Now that I'm dialing in how to grow hops on my land, I’d love to share what I’m building here with other beer lovers in the region.
