Hello Friends,

It’s June! Already! You up for another First Thursday beer outing? I thought so!

Hopworks Brewery - Powell Mothership

2944 SE Powell Blvd, Portland

It may have been a hot second since you’ve been to Hopworks… let’s change that! Hopworks has always been kind of an emotional favorite of mine. It was the first brewery I went to during my first visit to Portland all those years ago, and someone there told me “Hey, you should move to SE Portland!” and I was like “Yeah, I dunno about that…”

And here I am. And here we are!

We’ll see you this Thursday at Hopworks!

Ah Hopworks, that does bring back memories for me. My wife and are were mug club members and it was at the members christmas party in 2017 that I spoke with the head brewer and he was talking about how excited they were because they had hired a few women in the brewhouse. At that time I was looking for my next career path and when he said that I had a lightbulb moment….”Hey, I could work in beer!” 

And here I am! 

Sadly, I will be out of town for this event but it’s a beer related trip so not all that bad. Enjoy ya’ll!

HUB mug member too. Other than being close by, they were a goto late pizza dinners with my kids after jiu jitsu classes on Thursdays on the regular. Good chance they also fueled my projection into home brewing when I use to get corny fills for my kegerator setup before brewing. Still a good back up to have if I'm between brews ready. Many whitewater kayaker film movie screenings down in the brewery too back in the day! I'll try and stop by after class if still around. :)
