You guys always seem to have the answers I am looking for.  Your suggestion to use the Microsoft Open XML to get at Excel was a breeze.  Anyway I now need to get at QuickBooks data from the desktop.  The only viable option I see is to use the Intuit SDK.  Any ideas?

My information is about 3 years old, which means it's probably really interested in dinosaurs now.

Wait, wrong kind of 3YO.

Back then, though, the API was the only way to do it, short of reverse engineering.
