Job Description:
Plan, coordinate, and execute the development of electrical/electronic
systems, components, and harnesses. Become a Mechatronics department
expert on vehicle subsystems in areas of responsibility. Coordinate
the development of routings, mountings and installations of electrical/
electronic components to meet product requirements. Assure conformance
of designs to technical specifications. Analyze designs, using
electrical design programs and CAD tools for proper function,
manufacturability and quality. Perform Current Product Engineering
activities handling the Mechatronics shop broadcast documentation and
maintain design responsibility for cab harness layout diagrams. Update
documentation (bills of material and design charts) to increase
generation of complete orders, and resolve and eliminate shop calls
per corporate metrics. Cross-functionally assist other CPE and New
Product Development groups with design and analysis input and peer
review of designs. Assist the manufacturing plants to diagnose and
resolve shop problems. Work closely with other departments within
Clients and suppliers to integrate new technology into all facets of
electromechanical designs of Client vehicles.
Skill Set:
Working knowledge of Mentor Graphics L Cable design program is
preferred.
Working knowledge of CLIENT Documentation systems is preferred.
Working knowledge of CLIENT Shop Broadcast electrical documentation
systems is preferred.
General knowledge of automotive systems is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as personal
computer office automation skills are required.
Knowledge of 120 Volt inverter systems or remote transmitters and
receivers or display monitors is preferred.
Education:
bachelor’s degree; OR and Associates degree and 1 year of experience;
OR 4 years of related Client experience is required. Bachelor's degree
in Engineering or Electrical Engineering disciplines is strongly
preferred.
