I'm curious if I can gain any information on what might be going
on before I call phone repair. I don't really care all that much
if my land line is out for a while, but my internet connection is
crucial for the next couple of days.
Does anyone have any idea what kind of problem might cause
something like this?
Thanks!
-Mike
Don't know, but I've lost voice signal a few times for very short
periods on my DSL/phone line. It could be something that will come
back on its own shortly.

1. if you're using a wireless card in your computer(s) it might have found
another connection outside of your own to use.
2. if an animal chewed your line and then it would have been either shorted
out or have an 'open out' on the line, either way it wouldn't work. no if
the verizon person lied to you and there was soming wrong at the co level
then i could understand how your dsl still worked. The place where your dial
tone and the place where your dsl is dished out to you are in different
locations then they become one before leaving the CO.
Hope that helps..
