Now I wonder. the schools never have enough money. the libraries
cannot stay open very long. and I am sure there are lots of other
things. How can there be money left over when everything is getting
cut back? what is wrong with this picture?

There is a spectrum upon which lie two endpoints. One point is slavery, and
at the other end: FREEDOM.

Interesting how, when the law works to one's advantage,
(in this case, when it puts money in your pocket) it is
so very easy to say: "The law is the law... and I am
quite happy with it. If you don't like it... change it."
But when someone points out this very same thing in an area
people DON'T like (for example, the legalization of pot and
the recent arrest of the community dope dealer) he becomes
an object of some scorn and derision.

If you want to call someone a hypocrite around here, I would like to
see two dated and unadulterated quotes side-by-side. Or just stick to

You misunderstand me.
I am 1000% behind the return of the kicker to the various
people and businesses that actually paid it.
What the purpose of this post was boils down to this:
greggy, among others, took me to task because I have
this quirk. I believe that the law is the law, and
if one disagrees with it, there is a mechanism around
to change it.
Yet, when the shoe was on the other foot, so to speak,
and greggy used almost my exact same argument to support
his receipt of his check, I was struck by both the irony
and the hypocrisy of his position, and took pains to point
those facts out.
It is just another example of how those who are blinded by
their own biases think... when it suits them.

I certainly hope that the Mr. H. that you're referring to is not me. Since
you don't even know me, or my political views, calling me a socialist would be
rather silly. And I don't recall ever defending Mr. Rose; I merely pointed
