people who reply for no reason, for the life of me i do not
understand why people respond to a post here or
any newsgroup for that matter for no more reason than to tell you that
you are stupid for what you posted i guess its
human nature for some to send unwanted email to you.....not responding
out of intrest just to spew trash at you......well i'm not going to try
to under stand it......small minds generate small actions and there
surprised when you respond back to what they have said to you.....well
below you see ...if you care what started this.....he does not even read
that if you buy 30 paintings there 3.50 each

This is a public forum. I for one appreciate it when someone shares
information they have that I dont. I have made many purchases through
usenet and have been saved from rip-off artist in by unsolicited posts
several times. I believe that if everyone contributed in this way to all
the forsale forums, we WOULD ALL benifit greatly. If you believe that
usenet is simply a classified add that you can post to for free, you have
not been paying attention. This is a user/customer operated/supported
facility, designed to enrich all of our lives, not just the wallets of a few
"old school" business folks. Wake up, this is a forum where we are free to
"discuss" items that are forsale. This is NOT a pasive medium, if you want
"passive" you should revert to traditional addvertising mediums, where you
can feed your line to the million of browsing sheep that graze the manicured
lawns of filtered infromation provided by a handfull of multi-national
controled media organizations.

Thanks

Well said. I'm sure that this "waste of bandwidth" indicates to a
certain class of netzines that you need to "get a life." What
constitutes "a life" to these folks is, apperently, spending every
waking moment scheming on how to extract as large an amount of
money out of others as possible. The funny thing is that they seem
to incorrectly assume that many readers are as stupid, or stupider
than they are.

To bad there are not more like mkepp. He seems to enjoy the net as
much as he enjoy's making a dime on it so his posts are worth
reading as often as not.

Tom;

Thank you for the kind compliment. Yes, I do enjoy posting to this
newsgroup (and a few others), even though I do try to 'have a life'
outside of my computer. I think I have given away almost as much stuff
as I've sold. It's an interesting observation; you can advertise
something for ten cents and not receive one reply, but watch what the
word "Free" does! I go to more than my share of government auctions,
liquidations, etc., and more often than not, end up having to take a
whole truck load of junk when all I really want is one little
item. However, my FIRST priority is to GET RID OF THE STUFF I post! My
second is to get a little $$$ out of it, if applicable. Keeping in mind
that most of the items I post have both a very low supply as well as
demand. Since as OBGYN exam tables, lie detector, BPA power
transmission tower, carnival ride, etc.

This Spring, I'll be having another one of my 'killer garage sales', and
I'll be sure to invite everyone who hangs out in this newsgroup. And I
have absolutely no problem with those who want to come early! As long
as the "your money spent to my time wasted" ratio is fairly high.

For the Portland Metropolitan area, yes. That's Portland, Vancouver, Tigard,
and so forth. Not Salem, not Pendleton, not Newport, not Lincoln city...

You decide - the first time. If you make a bad decision, your ISP may decide
for you later on.

>what crystal ball do you use to decide who is a "rip-off artists"
>simplesales

No crystal ball - just reports from other consumers. Dissatisfied customers
are almost ALWAYS much more vocal than the satisfied. Anyone wishing to do
business on the Internet had better get used to the idea that, within minutes
of a customer being dissatisfied, there will be hundreds, thousands, or even
millions who hear the story.

That's why, if a seller P.O.s someone in this newsgroup, they get the virtual
crap kicked out of them.

Compare your posts to those of many others'. Your lack of proper punctation,
capitalization, and simple grammer makes you appear ignorant. That's hardly a
crime, but it's nothing of which to be proud, either.
