Anyone know of an ISP that has reasonable prices and unmetered service?
Since earthlink has taken over portland and ISDN is an old technology
it's getting difficult to find service. I can't get DSL and I can't get
Cable modem service. I could do starband but equipment costs are a bit
expensive. Robert w Oldfield

If your idea of reasonable goes up to $80/month, try DSL Northwest;
I'm getting an ISDN line through them and have had no problems except
a month-long outage when Northpoint rolled belly-up and died.

ISDN is a little different than IDSL. Doesn't appear that DSL northwest
offers ISDN packages. ISDN is the grandfather so to speak of DSL.

How can you recomend a company that went chapter 11

If you can get ISDN you can get IDSL. Check www.dsl-only.net

Easystreet offers ISDN but calls it a "business" service. Cost is
$40/month for 60 hours or $60/month "unmetered". I don't have any idea
of how good they are for ISDN but I'm very satisfied with their DSL
offering.

Interestingly, I don't think Easystreet has ever offered IDSL. That may
be because the ILECs don't provision it. Ony the flakey Covads and
Northpoints of the world.

Good question. But I didn't, so the question is moot.

When Northpoint rolled belly up, DSL Northwest immediately offered
me a 56k line until they could switch my service to the new
transport, plus they didn't bill me during the outage and they left
me on the old billing plan, despite having to up their normal ISDN
rates by $10/month to compensate for their new transports new
rates.

I'm sure that Dsl only is a fine concern, but you're not the most
compelling advertisement for it.
