Currently reading _When_Iron_Gates_Yield_, by Geoffrey T. Bull. In 1949
and 1950, he was a Christian missionary in Tibet and stayed there while
the Chinese army invaded the country. My high school and university
history courses completely glossed over the taking of Tibet by the
Chinese, and so reading a first hand account of the events as seen by one
of the last (if not the last and only) westerner on hand during those
events. Bull spent approximately 3 years in prison at the hands of the
Chinese after the invasion.
