Hi, thanks for your interest in building an altar at the Day of the Dead celebration.

If you haven't already, you might want to check out the site (NW corner of 30th and Alberta, behind Guardino Gallery). If you have a specific location in mind, you can let us know beforehand so we can reserve it for you on the day. Or you can just show up and find a spot.

The NW and NE corners are where the main altar and T-Horse will be. I think the space to the left as you enter from 30th is also spoken for.

The event is on rain or shine, so please consider weather protection when designing your altar. Electricity will be available, as will rest rooms in the gallery. To minimize fire danger, please be mindful of candles, and bring a bucket for water and/or a fire extinguisher.

We'll start setting up at 3 p.m. on the 29th. We have until noon the next day to clean up, so you can leave your altar up overnight (at your own risk). Please be sure to clean up completely, leaving no debris for our hosts to contend with.

For last-minute updates, you're welcome to join the mailing list at http://groups.google.com/group/pdx-day-of-the-dead

Looking forward to meeting you and enjoying your altar!
