What a beautiful time we had with the ancestors last night! Thank you to this community for making it happen.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED with one remaining cleanup task: If you're around Alberta today, could you walk down the alley and pick up the flowers, as per Donna's request? Thanks!

If you forgot a photo or memento on the altar, contact in...@pdxdayofthedead.org. Objects will be kept for 3 months, then ceremonially burned. (I'll also burn the cards with names and photos of this year's dead in a ceremonial fire on Saturday night.

Keep an eye on the Oregonian -- they will be running a brief print piece on the event, linked to a video/photo piece on the web.

I'll be posting my photos and video, along with some reflections and thoughts for next year, in the next week or so. Thanks again for the wonderful energy each one of you brought to last night!

What a beautiful community event.....it was touching to be  a part of =).  My friend walked with her Uncle that night...she was so happy to be able to honor him that night....I guess he was the black sheep of the family and her family didn't approve of him...his death was not honored but we were able to  that night....thank you!!!!
