Hi everybody, very excited after last night's get-together.

I think the biggest thing we can do to support the event is to spread the word to our friends and networks -- especially altar artists and performers. The event could really use musicians, drummers, dancers, etc., both during the procession, and afterward at the altar area.

If you're electronically inclined, you can help get the word out on Facebook and Twitter.

I've been keeping a list of famous people who have died during the past year, and I'm going to start posting their names and dates as a way of building interest. Please share and retweet these posts!

love Stella

I'll have postings out through our sites - MySpace, Flickr, Tribe, Facebook, LinkedIn, I have a Twitter and Wordpress account but haven't figured out how to use them yet.  I'll see if I can dig up performers.  Has anyone contacted Soriah yet?  He does the Tuuvan throat singing, and did a wonderful piece that was embodying Quezecoatl (sp?).  He is totally into ritualistic performances, and would be perfect to lead the procession or do a piece at the altar site.

Olga's comments are very much appreciated.  I guess I was thinking of the family altars that are up year round, not just the muertos altars.

Are meeting notes posted anywhere?

He may have it up on his website http://soriah.net/music/.  The piece I mentioned was intoned in the ancient Aztec language Nahuatl according to the cd release info on his page.  Soriah himself is of Mexican descent, and is an astounding performer.

He's performing at Berbati's Pan on the 30th.
