Hey friends,
You may remember an email I sent out a while back about a young queer refugee from Central America who is seeking asylum status here in Oregon. A few of us raised our hands to be Tias/Tios/Titis for Cris to help her get settled here. We are loving getting to know her. She's so kind, sparkly, sweet, determined, and brave.
We are raising funds for her to get a truck so that she can get independent work right now and construction work in the future. We are hoping that PCC and the Oregon Tradeswomen programs are in her near future. She is living with me now in SE Portland.
If you have odd jobs that you need a hand with, Cris is available here and there.
She is qualified and motivated to do gardening, landscaping, house painting, house cleaning, and construction work.
Thanks to those of you who hooked her up with an upcoming two week job at Girls Build in July! We'll see what the future holds.
If you would like to support her with a donation to the fundraiser, here is the
link! If you have other connections for work for her, please be in touch with me or one of her Ti@s (listed on the GoFundMe). Thank you!!
I hope this finds each of you well.
Miss seeing your faces,
Liz
P.S. If you have a spare twin bed and comforter laying around that would be most welcomed too!
