iOS 5 Facebook Integration

Hello All:

I am struggling with the Facebook integration. So here is what I am trying to do and just can't figure it out.

I am trying to implement Facebook as a singleton in that they don't authenticate unless they load the particular view that has facebook functionality.

In the facebook example they load it on app load which is not what I want to do.

So what I want to do is be able to do the following in Facebook.

1. Provide a status update with an icon of my app
2. Check-in with the app on their wall.

Does anyone know of any good examples to accomplish this?
