First, an "Earth Day" bargain from Peachpit on eBooks and/or Videos (oh, I get it! they're paperless!)

Good through Tuesday (available to anyone)

Adobe announced Creative Suite 6 this morning. Tons of text and videos on Adobe's own site, http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite.html

WHEN? They didn't specify a  launch date, but it's all “scheduled to be available within 30 days.” (Some who placed a pre-order on Adobe's site got an estimated May 7th delivery date.)

New upgrade and purchase options: subscription through the new online service, Creative Cloud...
  • For $50/month with an annual subscription (or $80/month for month-to-month), you'll have full online access to any CS6 app (there are 14 of 'em!)
  • If you own a Suite version CS3 or later, you can get the first year of subscription for $30 (instead of $50) here https://creativecloud-specialoffer.adobe.com/special-offer/?loc=en_US
  • Photoshop-only subscription will be $20/month with annual or $30 without.

Online Events for CS6 (free public webinars)

"6 Days of Photoshop CS6," by the National Association of Photoshop Professionals

Adobe's own "Ask a Pro" crew have a webinar series next week - 4/30 thru 5/4

Other Learning

photoshopuser.com provides more than the webinars, and many other online sources have made videos.
Plus the free videos from lynda.com (as Victor mentioned at the meeting) here: http://www.lynda.com/cs6

Always wishing you'd learned Flash?

Flash is still there.... but Adobe is pushing to replace Flash-based web sites with HTML5.
  • Newish app Edge assists in the creation of animated web content.
  • New app Muse will automate the process of developing HTML5 websites. For non-programmers, this may offer an easier path to full applications on web sites (especially if you have experience with earlier HTML/CSS).
