Hello,

I need some basic informations of pdsh. My task is to distribute a set of shell files to different nodes on a GRID computer and receive the results from each individual node and process and image based on the results in the host computer. Is there any possibility with pdsh to automatically distribute the shell files (parallely) to different nodes at the same time. All this work has to be done in a Linux system. If so, how should I do it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Naveinah

Naveinah:

Pdsh can copy shell files using the pdcp(1) command distributed with pdsh. Its usage is like

 pdcp -w <target hosts> <src> <dst>

Then you can run the shell command via pdsh

 pdsh -w <target hosts> <dst> <args>...

I hope that helps.

BTW, the pdsh-users googlegroups is not quite active yet. I still need to transfer the old
sourceforge list to googlegroups.
