Greetings PDR aficionados!

We are happy to announce the newest release of the PDR Toolbox, pdrtpy.  Co-released is a new version of the pdrtpy notebooks.
You can install the newest version 2.2.3 with pip install pdrtpy and download the notebooks from github.  Changes include:

H2 Excitation Fitting
  • Fitting for maps completed; each unmasked pixel in a map fitted
  • user can see maps of column density, hot and cold temperature, ortho-to-para ratios
  • "explore" function to see fit at various points in a map
Density and Radiation Field Fitting
  • Now uses LMFIT package for fitting.
  • Map fitting updated to allow interpolated solutions between model grid points
  • MCMC method available (best for single pixel fitting) via emcee package
Models
  • updated and expanded Wolfire/Kaufman 2020 models covering many more spectral lines
  • large set of KOSMA-tau models now available (thanks, Markus and Volker!)
and more!

If you haven't joined the PDR Toolbox google group ( https://groups.google.com/g/pdrt ), we ask you to join.  That way your experiences with PDRT can be shared with other users as well as with Mark and me.   Also, when we apply for future funding to continue development, we can point to a robust user community!

thanks,
Marc & Mark
