Q:

Running Silverlight 4 and Silverdox 1.2.4288.24388

On Windows 7, the Silverdox DocumentViewer works as expected. Pinch to zoom is good, swipe to scroll through pages, etc. However, when working under Windows 8, pinch to zoom is no longer recognized. Is this an issue with Windows 8’s multi-touch support? Is there an update to Silverdox that addresses this issue?

A:

I would recommend looking into upgrading to Silverlight 5. Note that Silverlight 4 is no longer supported by Microsoft, including security patches. Like Microsoft, we are are solely updating the Silverlight 5 version of SilverDox.

If Silverlight 5 is not an option, or if it also suffers from touch-related problems on Windows 8, you may be interested in the HTML5 version of WebViewer. WebViewer opens the same .xod files as SilverDox and runs on all modern browsers including mobile browsers.
